After studying a Neuroscience degree on a full scholarship in Malaysia, where he also started a magazine and events agency, at 23 Ben became one of Google’s youngest strategy managers. Alongside consulting the world’s leading media organisations, Ben worked as a YouTuber and television presenter on Children’s BBC.
Following an MA in Journalism, studied on a full scholarship, 2017 saw Ben hired by BBC London TV News. The majority of his original reports ran as the prestigious ’top story' in the flagship BBC News at Six programme. Watch Ben's TV reports here.
In Summer 2017 Ben presented his own series of programmes on BBC Radio 4 and 4 Extra. “The Ben Hunte Interviews” was a key part of the BBC’s “Gay Britannia” coverage, and featured guests such as Paul O’Grady and Stephen K Amos. Listen to Ben's radio work here.
Ben was nominated as a “Rising Star Reporter” at the CIRCOM European Journalism Awards 2017. His Radio 4 Extra series was nominated for a PinkNews 2017 award. He also won a 2017 British LGBT Award for an “Outstanding Contribution to LGBT Life”.
